Ask the nurses or doc before you leave the hospital after birth.  They should have one on staff to meet with you there.  My insurance automatically us scheduled us an appt to meet a lactation consultant the day after we got home.  It was worth it.

I would call the hospital/birth center where you gave birth since most of them have a specific group of lactation consultants that they use. 
In my case, the hospital gave me a pamphlet when i gave birth with the name/number of a lactation consultant to use. Since the hospital was in-network, so was the lactation consultant so it was mostly paid for by insurance (minus co-pays/deductibles), but it varies by plan so you'd have to call your insurance company to check.

Most insurances now accept a certain amount of sessions with a lactation consultant. I had to find my own. I just Goggled lactation consultants near me.
