Insurance Question: specifically railroad
My fiance and I got engaged in May and then found out that we had conceived in September. Right after I found out I was pregnant, my work had open enrollment and I found out my rates had doubled for my health insurance for the next year. Our original date was going to be New Year's Eve of 2023 for the wedding. To get me on his insurance sooner, (and save $1200 just in my health insurance premium for the year) we decided that we are going to get married this New Year's Eve in a very small ceremony, and have our large reception next New Year's Eve with a small vow renewal ceremony.
My question is: can the Aetna railroad insurance deny me coverage because I was pregnant before I will be added to his plan? I thought the ACA had made it unlawful for insurance companies to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions ( pregnancy), but I'm having a lot of trouble finding this anywhere on the internet, on Aetna's website, or in his Summary of coverages.
