Period after baby & the pill

I got my first period after baby right at 6 weeks (not breastfeeding) - I started the mini pill on day 1. I have now been bleeding for 8 days. My normal cycle pre baby was 4 days. I’m debating stopping the pill because I think that’s why I’m still bleeding and getting another iud instead. Has anyone else had a really prolonged period after baby and was it because it’s the first one or did the pill make it worse?
