Will you let your kids go to sleepovers?

Carol

My daughter is about to turn 4, so we are still a little ways away from sleepovers with friends. They were a big part of my childhood and always fun. However, I’ve heard from other moms and some other sources that sleepovers leave kids vulnerable - which makes sense. I’m just wondering where everyone else is on this topic.

Side note: my mom always knew the other parents pretty well and asked lots of questions when I was a kid. I always assumed I would do the same, but upon reflection, there were a couple of houses that were cleared by her that probably shouldn’t have been (not my mom’s fault - sometimes people just aren’t truthful). Idk, I’m very on the fence about all of it. I made some great memories with friends at sleepovers, but I don’t want to open my kid up to possible trauma that can be avoided.
