What’s your wildest experience working retail?

I work retail and it has stayed really busy these past few days and that’s totally okay with me, it makes the day go by faster. Anyways straight into the question what’s the wildest experience you’ve had with a customer? I got an eyeliner thrown at me on Black Friday because there wasn’t any on sale. Yesterday a lady got mad at me because I didn’t immediately ask her how her day was going, all I said was “hi, how are you?” And she replied with “where is my “how is your day going???” SUPER angry!!! Then she demanded to speak to my manager for a palette that wasn’t on sale and refused to leave until she got a half price discount. Her attitude immediately changed after she was given a discount and tried asking me how was my Christmas🤦‍♀️ Also there was a lady in yesterday as well asking if we sell clear bras with straps🤣🤣anyways reel in the wild stories if you will or need to vent🤣 retail is wild but I still like my job so far lol

It’s been a while since l did retail, but there’s two experiences l still remember to this day. 
One time, l squatted down into a duck walk type of position to fold a shirt that belonged on a bottom shelf of a display table. Out of nowhere, this grown man in his 30s or 40s walks right up to me and puts his crotch in my then 19 year old face! 😡 And he had the nerve to act like he was looking at the other clothes on the table. 🙄 
The second experience l remember is when a Mom approached me and asked if we had any dinosaur shirts. I asked her what size she was looking for, started walking to the boys’ side of the store, and she became upset because of my gender stereotyped thinking (assuming the dinosaur shirt was for a boy when it was actually for her daughter). I wholeheartedly agreed with her statement, sincerely apologized for what l did, and walked over to the girls’ side of the store and showed her a white shirt with a dinosaur. I showed her the white shirt thinking it would be a safe choice, but then the Mom became upset again, sucked her teeth, and said, “She’s a girl, you don’t have any girls shirts in pink or purple?!” I then explained to her that we did, but didn’t want to stereotype her daughter liking girl colors. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yikes 😬 customers are wild in retail especially during the holidays. I'm so sorry someone threw something at you that's beyond next level!! The wildest experience I think I've had is between two.. first is a woman called me (a woman) sexist because I couldn't accept her months old expired coupon. Literally the system wouldn't let me. Asked to speak to a manager.. well ma'am that is me. She berated me for a good 5 minutes with customers behind her and she asked to speak to another but I was the only manager in the store and the only person above me was the store manager who wasn't there. I kept trying to explain to her why it wasn't possible while apologizing profusely and she proceeds to say "it's because I am a woman! You are sexist!!" Like?? Maam what?? I gave her like $3 bucks off just to shut her up and the next customer apologized to me on her behalf. Another time a guy brought in his young daughter and asked me some questions about small animals (it was a Petco) and as I'm answering he says "so uhh you...like motorcycles?" And I was like 🥴 making a confused face and he proceeds with "you..wanna go on a ride with me on my motorcycle some time?" Like sir you are a healthy 20 years my senior and lured me in like your child has questions about animals NO. Oh and once a drunk guy pretended he had questions about a product in the back of the store and then tried to grope me and another customer saw and cussed him out and he left. She was an angel for that i was beyond grateful. Customer service is a trip lmao.  I used to have some wonderful customers too that made it worth it like a few people would tip me just because I was kind or helpful and one time a little girl "helped" me take care of all the small animals after I okayed it with her dad. So sweet.

A customer brought her pampered little froo-froo dog into the store, and it peed on the floor. I brought her a spray and paper towels and she said to me in an angry disgusted way "Im not cleaning it up!!" and actually stayed in the store to shop with her dog.

I worked in retail and never would again. Customers can be absolutely vile. I can’t stand it when they behave that way and get the result they wanted. I always stood my ground and managers backed me up. You don’t get served if you don’t treat people with basic respect. 
Funnily enough never had an issue with young people. Just older ones

When I was working at limited too as a teenager I met some crazy customers. One time we found a pile of poop on the dresser room. And another time this old man used to come and touch the panties on display😩 it doesn’t get any better working with patients as a nurse . Customer service of any kind is not it !!

I am a teacher now, but I worked in retail as a cashier and it was wild. The craziest thing would be the teen girl who kicked her newborn baby in a car seat across the front lobby floor. She was arguing with a guy and the argument escalated. Cops were called and she was arrested. 
A lady pooped and peed in the floor on purpose. Fistfights over sheets. I could list so many things. 
Customers have became more violent and abusive over the years. It’s insane. Retail workers shouldn’t have to put up with nearly half the things they do.
