I will be having an induction with misoprostol/cytotec. They are using this because there are risks with Pitocin that they are trying to avoid. I do know the risks are virtually the same for both, just a couple differences. Ive read this an off-label drug and now im terrified to have it. What are your experiences with it? Im 39 weeks and 3 cm dilated. Can breaking your water or just using the ballon cause labor? Or are medications always needed for inductions? Im being induced due to previous hemorrhaging which is why they want to avoid Pitocin. They want it to be as controlled as possible just in case, otherwise I would be all for natural labor.
