Anyone here ever had preeclampsia? Can you tell me how you found out or the symptoms you noticed if any?

I was never diagnosed with it until I went to the hospital. My blood pressure fluctuated at the doctors so nothing concerning regarding it because it wasn’t high. When I went to the hospital, my blood pressure was 160/82. So I had to be on magnesium for 2 days without being able to move and eat or drink anything. You still need your catheter in to make sure urine output is good to check for magnesium toxicity. This pregnancy I need two baby aspirin. If you can prevent it I would! I was so weak after getting out of bed, it was terrible.

I found out I had it when I went into labor. Until then my blood pressure and everything was great, my only symptom was swelling in my feet and hands if I was on my feet more than usual. The week before I went into labor my legs started swelling some, but blood pressure and everything was still normal otherwise. When I went into L&D I started swelling more and more, they took my blood pressure and it was rising. They never told ME or my husband that I had pre-eclampsia, but I heard my nurse telling another nurse that came into help that I did. They told my husband that my blood pressure was getting too high and if they didn't get meds in me I could have a stroke, start seizing, or die in labor. After sticking me about a dozen times they finally got the iv in and got everything under control. I went on to have a pretty quick easy labor after that.
