How to tell partner I don’t want to go out of town with him to visit family

Title basically says it all. My SO is planning to visit some family over the weekend. His parents will also be here and they will travel a few hours by car. I love my SO and I can genuinely say I love my SO’s family as well. It’s just I’ve been so stressed and tired with work and family drama, I’d rather just stay home for the weekend. I just don’t want to come off the wrong way to him or his family.

Thoughts? Does this make me look like a bad girlfriend?
