How do I make friends?

I don’t have much friends. I want friends so I can get out of the house more. I’m shy and awkward and I don’t know how people even start conversations with a stranger. Its difficult bc I get in my head too much and overthink situations and it seems like people don’t like me but I’m not sure what it is about me that seems off to others

I had one guy friend and begged him to introduce me to any girl… eventually he did and I ended up with a whole group of friends and after that I stepped out of my social anxiety phase and now it’s easier for me to connect and communicate with people.. but I literally reached a low point where I had extreme social anxiety that I was begging the one friend I had who basically had no friends either.. turns out most woman are in the same situation.. don’t be scared.. to say exactly when u posted to another woman I’m sure they’ll agree their social life is lacking as well..
