Pain medication after labor

Currently ttc baby #2.

I moved states and last place didn’t give me anything but Motrin every 6 hours. I was in so much pain. I thought they give something stronger, is there any chance that other people had any stronger pain meds? I tore really badly and was in excruciating pain that I was begging for the Motrin which didn’t help at all. They told me they don’t give any other pain medication anymore. Is this the case?
