Sympathy meals?

My husbands best friend (also one of my friends) their family is going through a lot. His grandmother is on hospice now and not doing well. So I wanted to make them something. What’s a good sympathy meal to make? And sweets? Sweets are good when sad things happen!

I’d make them something freezer friendly in case they are already inundated with food and won’t eat it right away.  Enchiladas, marinated skirt steak or pork chops, baked ziti, pork tenderloin, pulled chicken, etc.

This is my favorite comfort dish, Chicken Tetrazzini Alfredo. You can get the full recipe on taste of home's website. I omit the mushrooms and add a little extra alfredo sauce and an ungodly amount of fried onions lol. It's great reheated too.
