Small pool of blood behind my placenta.. 24 weeks tomorrow
I woke up this morning to this and immediately went to emergency obstetrical triage.
The dr there did a spec and saw no blood and cervix was closed. Then did an ultrasound and came back and said but there is a “placental lake” she called it which is a small pool of blood behind the placenta.
I asked her if it is going to progress and she said not likely. But that my OB will probably send me for a follow up ultrasound. But baby looks good otherwise.
So she said I am ok to go home “today” were her words. If there’s anymore blood I was told to come back. She said it could be a possible subchronic hematoma. I’ve been reading about SCH and it is usually found in the first trimester so it poses higher risks when found mid trimester. Also read that it can cause actual placental abruption so I am super worried 🥺 but as of now I am home and no blood since that photo. Praying for the best 🙏
Anyone have a similar experience?? Did it go away or did it end up progressing to a placental abruption?
Please comment 🙏
