Decreasing Nutrition Assistance

The additional nutrition assistance enacted at the start of the pandemic has come to an end across the U.S. this month. Yet the cost of living continues to outpace the income of many who rely on these programs.

This change comes on the heels of the ending of the national universal meal program providing school lunches to all children regardless of income. Experts are now warning about an impending “hunger cliff”. In short, more people going hungry, and/or eating cheaper lower quality food.
