Anyone had an ovary removed?

When I was 15 I had an ovarian cyst removed that took one of my ovaries. No issues since and according to the last few months of tracking, I'm ovulating and getting periods regularly. Just wondering if anyone has had this experience and wanted to share. My biggest wonder is if it's possible to get a positive ovulation test and still not ovulate?

I was 12 and had two very large ovarian cysts, within 6 months of one being taken out one was the size of a grapefruit and the other about the size of a personel watermelon. Mine had its own blood flow and would get bigger and bigger but never pop, i had my right ovary taken out. I recently found out i have another ovarian cyst on my left ovary and am afraid they will have to take it out. Mind u im only 18!

Not yet - I'm getting surgery in about two weeks to remove a huge cyst the size of a grapefruit from my left ovary! I was told that it's very possible that I might get that ovary removed but it would be a decision made during the operation.

​At first I was feeling optimistic about it. As someone who doesn't necessarily want children, I was hoping maybe this will take away some of my fertility and possibly make my periods easier. But I've read that's not always the case.. And after more reading I saw that having a missing ovary somehow increases your chances of having children with down syndrome? Have any of you heard of this? Now I'm worried!

I have one ovary as well and even though I have low progesterone, I still ovulate. The left ovary took over for my right ovary which is gone. I am having fertility issues, however. But it might also be because I have Crohn's disease as well.

I am 32, and had an ovarian cyst and my right ovary removed when I was 30. Ttc #1 now, I had a positive LH surge last month. I am also wondering if you may have a surge but not actually ovulate. From the research I have done, your existing ovary will take over the function of having two. It is a good sign that you are having regular periods
