Questions about the two week wait?

Im 1dpo and have a few questions- 
​
​- when implantation occurs, usually how many dpo is it? 
​
​-if implantation occurs do you always get implantation bleeding? 
​
​-what is happening to your body after ovulation but before implantation? Has the egg already been fertilised? (If it gets fertilised) 
​
​- after implantation , how long does it take to start getting hcg in your system?

Answer

Implantation can occur anywhere between 5-12 days after ovulation if your egg is fertilised. Not everyone experiences implantation bleeding (I didn't). In that time your fertilised egg is travelling down the Fallopian tube towards your uterus where it becomes implanted. Once implanted, you produce HCG, however it isn't enough to be picked up by tests (some are more sensitive than others) until at least 5 days before your period (approx 9dpo) but best to wait til you're due or late to get accurate results when your HCG is high enough to be detected. Some women's levels of HCG are extremely low and won't be picked up til a week after being late or more.
