TMI-picture! Spotting, period, help!

Hi ladies, looking for advice here! And yes I know, the only way to know for sure is to take a test. Just looking for some feedback. My boyfriend & I decided to start trying about a month ago, yesterday would have been my day to start my period, I have had VERY light spotting as in a few brown spots on my undies and barely a tint of brown when I wipe. (As seen in picture). My period has always been very regular and a normal flow. I am wondering if any of you have been pregnant but had spotting when your period was due? I am planning to test this weekend. Thanks!​
