Have u ever been pressurised to have a baby boy?

In some cultures in laws and parents pressurise the woman so badly to give birth to a boy, when I was pregnant my mother forced me to abort my baby just because I'm having a girl, which I didn't because I was really happy with the pregnancy. I no longer talk to her, has anyone else been through this?

I was never told directly, but my mother in law indirectly gave me ma y 
​indications that she wants a boy. I am an Indian, and know that majority of women want their daughter in laws to get a grandson for them. Its the cheap mentality with a majority of women, who actually forgot they are also someone's grand-daughter.

I'm actually watching a documentary on Netflix called It's a Girl. It's about this exact topic! There were women from India who actually murdered their daughters after birth because they didn't want girls. Girls are looked at as burdens.

I felt a lot more pressure to have a baby right after getting married... Now almost 6 years in I think people either assume we aren't ever having kids or that we can't... We are just waiting until we are ready.
