Sick? How sick?

Question

I am 5 weeks today and we have all heard about the nausea and fun that comes along with the first trimester but has anyone had to be taken off work? I have been so sick 24 hrs a day that I feel like I can not function. Too weak to drive, do everyday chores around house, or even cook dinner for my husband. I feel so alone with the severity of this that it worries me... ?

I see this is really old but I'm 9/5 and I can't even get outra bed in so weak can't stomach anything been put on medication didn't help haven't been at work for a week :(

I've been nauseous since about 6 weeks. At first I just sat on the couch all day and didn't clean or cook.  Then at about 9+4 I couldn't get out of bed. I lived in bed for about a week. I couldn't stand for more than a minute. I couldn't walk without help. I would cry from frustration when I walked up or down stairs. Don't be like me. I tried to tough it out and ended up in really bad shape. You know your body, screw what they say about being pregnant. If you know something is wrong go to the er. If being this weak is not normal for you when you are sick then get help. I'm 12 weeks now and I'm still fighting the dehydration I suffered. Don't think you are being lazy or dramatic. I felt that way and pushed myself until my body started shutting down. Pregnancy is hard and some women don't react well to the hormones, everyone is different. Listen to your body, it knows what it needs.

Wow! I am so sorry you are sick! I hope you feel better soon! Thankfully I am not vomiting but when I am able to eat I have issues with the other end. I have lost 2 pounds. I called office today and they just suggested I increase my fluids and protein which both I will have to force down. So that's the plan if not better in a few days I have to call back. Thanks for your input. I hate to be so helpless and yet have to worry about my job!

Talk to your dr. I was/still am very ill and am on my third week off work. I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum due to severe vomiting and losing weight. So if you are losing weight or dehydrated please seek medical attention. It's awful but helps with support
