Is taking your sugar pills on the last week of your pack really necessary? They don't have any medicine in them and all it is is sugar right? I don't see the point unless you remember to start your new pack in exactly a week after since they're just there for reminders.

I used to throw away the placebo pills when I was on the pill. I don't think it's bad to do so.

The sugar pills have no medicine I'm them. They are to help you stay on track. That way you stay in the habit of taking them, same time everyday.

My doc said you can skip periods by skipping those and starting a new pack. You don't have to take them. I don't! I have a normal period and then start my new pack a week later!
