What to eat?

Question

I heard that when you're pregnant some food may not be safe to eat like meat or other products.. I never knew this so I was wondering what is unsafe or not recommended to eat when pregnant.

There's so much stuff. Deli meat (cold), fish with mercury, undercooked meat, smoked meat

I just started with a new dr. (We moved and old dr is 40 minutes away) I was very surprised when she told me you can eat deli turkey or ham. You don't need to heat it up.  Just can't have the others. You can also eat soft cheese as long as it's pasteurized. It amazes me how different drs tell you different things

Yup, no deli meats or uncooked sausages and salamis. You aren't supposed to have certain kinds of cheeses either, like blue cheeses. Also, not supposed to have sushi.

I was told to make sure all meat was cooked well. To just avoid deli meats all together. And to be very careful with foods that have egg in them. Like egg salad sandwiches premade from a store. I just avoided fish all together. Basically was told I could eat what I was craving as long as it wasn't ridiculous like paint chips and ect. Of course you eat healthy, but you don't have to take everything away. You just make sure it's cooked properly.
