Negative test result

My expected period date was about 1 or 2 days ago. I have been having tiny cramps and horribly aching boobs..horribly! With my period I usually have horrible cramps and my boobs do not hurt but this time it is the opposite and I have not bled at all. I took an early response pregnancy test and it was neg. is there a change I could be preg even if the test was neg?
