No positive opk!

I'm having normal periods but haven't had positive opk in 5 cycles, and am testing every day from end of period ( not needed I know but makes me feel I def can't miss it) and have heard about missing a short surge so in the week I should be ovulating I test twice a day, still nothing!! Is it too soon for trip to docs?? Thanks
