Positive OPK

I'm so confused at the opk this is my first month trying to conceive and I'm having really bad left pelvic pain. I wanted to take a opk to see if it's ovulation pain or if it's a cyst. Help me!!! My husband saids it's positive but the instructions are confusing!!
