Depo Provera: brown discharge?

I've been on the shot since May. I've had this A1 sauce colored discharge for a few days out of the few months I've been on the shot. It's effecting my sex life. My SO loves having sex & yesterday there was the brown discharge or old blood on his penis. He wasn't angry but I personally felt embarrassed. Help!
