So confused

I saw the Gyno today for some pelvic pain in having. During my exam I asked if we could do a blood pregnancy test. I'm took Clomid this cycle and my period is expected on Tuesday. He told me that I probably wouldn't be able to see enough in a test yet, and that it probably isn't even implanted yet.

So confused since i ovulated on 10/6 and I'm 12 DPO and cycle day 28. I do have PCOS though, so of course my body never does anything normal. Anyone else hear something similar from doc before?
