Birth control

So I'm about to become a sexually active person and I want to start on birth control and I know all the steps to getting it the only thing stopping me is my mom I don't think she will give me the money to buy them I live in Ontario so health care is free but I don't think birth control is covered I'm going to try to talk to my doctor about it but I don't really trust her that she won't tell my mom.. help what should I do
