Late Period!

Hey everyone! I went off BC two months ago, and my first period after came no problem (perhaps a bit heavier than on BC but I think that's normal). This month, however, I am late - 8 days so far. I took two hpt's (one digital and one not digital) when I was 3 days late, but both came up negative. Should I test again in a week or so? What does anyone else think?
