Period is late?????

Ok so my last period was September 28th and it's already Nov 1st and I already took a home pregnancy test and it came out negative then I went to the ER because I've been having breathing problems and problems with my throat yet NOTHING and they had me take a pregnancy test there too and it was still negative I'm only 19 and I am very sexually active I don't use protection either but wouldn't the test show results already or no???
