Question about after birth control

I was on the pill for about seven years and last September I got off of it. I had my initial bleed and then I've had a period about every three months since. This most recent time though it's going on five months and still nothing. I test periodically and always get a negative. Last time I tested was a week ago. I guess I'm just wondering is this normal? I'm at the point where I'm about to get married and I'm not trying necessarily but not preventing. Am I broken? It scares the crap out of me because I don't know what I would do if I couldn't have my own babies....help!
