Unusual discharge

Hi ladies, four days post period my partner and I had sex and he was left with brown blood on him at the end of it. Today is day one of ovulation and I have experienced a big blob of creamy brownish discharge. My last two cycles have been a bit off but pregnancy tests have all been negative. Any thoughts on what could be going on? Thanks
