Calendar method

So I'm NTC and was wondering if anybody else uses the calendar method and if it is effective if monitored properly. I just got off BC because it was killing my sex drive, so now my husband and I are looking for a birth control method that does not involve hormones or implantations.

Umm yea I'd advise against using that as your main method. My last pregnancy was a result of using the calender method. Also my DD is a result of the pull out method.

I've been using the pull out method and NFP for almost a year now and I haven't gotten pregnant. So if you follow it strictly, it may work for you. Me and my husband are very fertile people...lol. Good luck! :)

I started last month with fertility awareness method when I got off the pill. I have successfully avoided pregnancy for one month. And plan on continuing. I do not follow the rules 100%, mostly because of the options we have for birth control, my boyfriend is not particularly fond of.I highly recommend reading taking charge of your fertility by Toni weschler. It is proven to be 98% effective if rules are followed. It will teach you to track your cycle by taking your bbt in the am and tracking your cervical fluid and position and other symptoms throughout the month. You will start seeing a at tern after a fee cycles and decide what to do during your fertile period whether it is abstaining or using a barrier method.I for one have felt the best I have felt in years this past month being off the pill. Aside from the few days I have had my period the last few days. I would highly recommend it. Go on amazon and read review on the book. Hopefully you will decide to buy it, you can even check out tcoyf.com they have a forum there, even women that are and have been successfully avoiding for years.

I second that book recommendation. I think it should be required reading for all females! (and their SOs)
