Be in a relationship just because of our son?

We've recently got back together. On my end, I'm trying to work it out because I want him to have his mommy & daddy (but of course I have love for him)... I grew up without my father, and it messed with me bad. I don't want him to have to go threw that, but then again were starting to argue. Ugh.... We're actually into it at this very moment.. ???

That's a horrible reason to be together. Your child will sense the tension. Tense home environments can lead to all kinds of mental illnesses

I would never. Just because you two aren't together doesn't mean he won't have you both. I think a child having an example of what a strong living relationship is more important then staying together for the kids

I had the same problem but we work things out ( might sound silly but ) we wrote on paper what we didn't like about one another , what he we need to change and went from there .. everything has been fine ... try that out

I would work things out, I grew up with my parents divorced and always having new people in and out of my life and it made it hard for me to open up to new people and trust people, just tough it out until he is graduated or so, I know it may be hard but yall both have something in common yall both want the best for yalls son. No. You shouldn't. If anything, your child wants to see both mommy and daddy happy whether or not their together. Hope you two can work it out!

Bad idea, especially if you don't get along. It'll never work. It's ok to split up and just be cordial and co-parent. You guys will hurt the baby in the end with all of the fighting. If it isn't working, let it go and just be mature enough to parent together.

I did this with my sons father, kept going back because of my kid but in the end my child was being affected by all of that and I couldn't take it anymore; my baby yelling "be nice! Stop fighting. Be friends." It would kill me inside. We weren't happy together, or at least I wasn't but I stayed out of comfort and convenience, also because I believed I had to be with him for my child, as a family, happy or not. No! We actually get along so much better now that we're apart. We co-parent perfectly!

Ur son can still hv his mom n dad even if u guys are not together.  He can go back n forth between homes. Its better tht way bc its not heathy for u baby to see his parents argue all the time bc children do know when things bad r going on..
