Birth control hair loss

I recently went on the junel birth control pill for the first time. It was the first time I ever went on it and it was a low dose but very soon after I started taking it I noticed severe hair loss. Not just a couple strainds of hair either it was like whole globs of hair at once. I lost a lot of hair and stopped taking it after a month. Has anyone else experienced this? Also any other brands that might not have this side effect? I'm scared to even try another brand because I can't stand to lose anymore hair!
