Rhesus negative blood and how it effected ttc
So I am rhesus negative blood, I tried with my previous fiancé that was positive blood to have a baby for 6 whole years. I had two confirmed miscarriages not to mention the unconfirmed. I ended up being diagnosed with stage 5 endometriosis and had to have two operations to remove it and some cysts. But when I started with my ex fiancé the endo would not have been that bad. We both moved on after 7 years together. he informed me that he was with someone else and they were pregnant. It felt like a kick in the teeth and it confirmed what I had thought, that it was my body that had let us down when we tried to have a baby between us. I met my husband two years, eight months ago. I told him that the drs had told me I had a 20% chance of conceiving natrually after the damage from the endo and proberly then not at all. He was ok with this, but me i was heart broken over it. 6 months after we met we moved in together, to my shock we found I was pregnant and after many anxious tests found it was healthy and in the right place (I only had one twisted tube left after surgery) it was then I found out about being rhesus negative blood. I had to take a course of anti d injections through out the pregnancy, they explained that the injections I had would stop any future pregnancys being rejected. It was only then I found out that if I had had a positive blood baby in pregnancy before and miscarried and had no anti d injection that every baby that was positive blood my body would reject and miscarry. They found out this pregnancy had held because she was rhesus negative blood too, because my partner was as well and if two partners are negative blood the child can only be negative. Because my ex fiancé was positive blood it is highly likely those pregnancys were positive blood and my body thought they were a foreign object, so attacked it with my body's own anti body's and expelled it causing a misscarriege, just like the body fights illness. And I thought to myself u can have a misscarriege and you don't even know it sometimes, so you wouldn't know you need anti d injection. Could this simple injection stop numerous miscarriages and heart ache if everyone knew just a little more about rhesus negative blood? I don't know, so I thought I'd post as food for thought, what I do know is I have my miracle and now were hoping for another one :)
