Induced without epi?

Question

I have been set on not getting an epidural and I've been taking classes and preparing myself for a birth as natural as possible. Today I found out I would need to be induced because LO isn't growing enough and is in the 10th percentile for weight. I know that being induced makes the contractions much harder and faster and I have not heard of anyone not having to get an epidural. I was just wondering if anyone has not gotten an epidural after being induced and how i can prepare myself for it

I was induced with my first - didn't get the epidural because I didn't want to increase my risk of a c-section.  Spent the next 18hrs on the pitocin (max dose for 6 or so hours).  Contractions were on top of each other and painful but I was determined so I guess I just worked through it.  I used the laughing gas - don't know if it helped pain but I recalled liked focusing on the darth cadet sound it made.  You can do it!!

With my first I was induced. My water broke and i wasn't contracting regularly. I did NOT get an epidural. I will say that after I had #2 I didn't realize how crazy pitocin makes your labor. It's so unnatural the rate that the contractions keep coming. I gave birth 2 hrs after being induced. Not sure what the epidural outcome would have been if I had labored longer. GL!

Can you give me any more info on how your dr decided to induce because of LO being smaller? At my appt Friday I was 36w2d and baby measured 34w4d. Dates are definitely not off, so my ob is setting me up with a maternal fetal medicine dr next week so I'm anxious to know what he will say.

I have friend that was induced and had no epidural. I as well don't want an epidural and if I have to get induced, will try without it as long as I can. Something I have read was to request for pitosin to be started at lowest dose/rate possible and to try other options before pitosin.
