Took the morning after pill and now I'm confused in my cycle

I took a morning after pill the day after thanksgiving (2 days after the sex it was the earliest time due to holiday and the night of everything was closed) I had my period less than a week beforehand. Now a week later I've started again! I do have irregular periods but never like this. My irregular usually comes from the length of my cycle I've had period last 3-4 weeks and it may come back 3 weeks later for another long cycle. I just need to know if this is an actual period or just a side affect and if it will last a full cycle or go away in a few days. My boyfriend and I had a weekend planned and I hate to ruin it by saying I got my period, that's just very non-romantic considering our relationship is long-distance.
