IVF before immunology work up?

Has anyone's doctor pushed them to IVF without testing for autoimmune issues?

Yes - I don't quite understand the decision making about which labs are done before. I told my doctor that I don't want IVF to be a diagnostic or rule out procedure. It's hard to know how much to push and how much to trust.

My RE has been dismissive of autoimmune issues when I've brought it up. I spoke to him about it because I have endo, plus autoimmune thryoid disorder. And autoimmune conditions can travel together. And I've read about some connection between endo and autoimmune conditions.

But my regular endocrinologist says that my autoimmune thryoid condition isn't a factor in my infertility. Maybe because my thryoid function is currently normal (it's just the presence of antibodies that allowed her to detect the autoimmune thryoid disorder).

Many Dr do not check for immunology bc it isn't kept understood how it affects fertility. The only thing I know for certain is thyroid. It's hard to find a reproductive immologist.

Hi, I am pushing for the tests.  1 failed uiu and 1 failed icsi.   Living in van bc canada, no dr really does it here.  Dr. Alan Beer clinic in California I hear is really good.
