My first birth control?

I've been looking into birth control ever since I was 16 and I'm turning 18 next Saturday still relying on the withdrawal..

My pediatrician told me NuvaRing was a good choice because of her information on what she found would be best for me, but after reading forums on it I still am not 100% for it.

The pill on the other hand just seems like something that more girls go with, but  my issue with picking a bc is safety!! I do not want to mess up my insides!

Which birth control is a better plan for me to use since I will be adding hormones to my body for the first time?

I was on the pill for 5 years and my sister was on it for 15-30 so don't even worry about it. They have so many different kinds now days. Thenuvaring is sketchy. I had a friend get pregnant with twins on it and another it constantly would end up on the mans penis. I had a cousin on the depo shot. She seemed to like it. And another friend had the implant in her arm. Just take your time and consider what you want:)

I'm 15 and I'm just now getting on birthcontrol for my acne . some birth controls are stronger than others. but for a first timer like me and you, my mom put my on Quasense, which is the cheapest but it stills works. all birth control works. it just up to you on what you want to pay and use.

If you are good at taking pills everyday I would start off with that and try it for a month or so even if you have side effects before making a switch to something else. If you end up having horrible side effects try something different and talk to your doctor to see which pill would be best. So many to choose from!

I was on pills for 12 years. Switched brands several times, some were great, others terrible, but it's all trial and error because every woman reacts differently. My favorite with no side effects for me was Beyaz.

Talk to your doctor. Not all birth control pills are the same, nor do they effect different people in the same way. They have different side-effects. I have tried 5 different kinds of pills , but I had to take-a-break from them because the side effects were horrible. Evidently my body doesn't appreciate the extra hormones. But don't make my story scare you away from birth control. Don't be afraid to try some, just keep tabs with your doctor and report back to him/her if you are having side effects.

Everyone's body is different. I would recommend starting out on either the nuvaring or pills and if you don't like it switch. The ring and bc pills are both easy to use and don't require the commitment something like Mirena would.
