Shaving before labour?

What's the protocol for pubic hair during childbirth? Shave/wax it off or does it really matter? Do the nurses shave you anyways?

Nurse shaved it for me. Its required in case of an episiotomy, the ob can do proper stiches in hygenic conditions without hair in the way

You don't have to, they used to when our moms had us, but that's totally not the norm anymore. The only time they will is if you have a c-section and it's not like they are going to shave your labia and stuff, only where the incision will be. That beig said I got waxed 1 week before my due date. Partially because I just always wax, and partially because I didn't want to deal with hair and all that after birth blood. Just makes me feel cleaner. But as far as your hospital/birth of center is concerned there is no requirement to be bald, trimmed, etc ?

I was great at maintaining my lady parts until the last few weeks. My belly was too big to see what I was doing and I just didn't care anymore. When you're in labor it will be the last thing you are thinking about I promise.

I don't think u need to, they don't really care (they have seen way worse lol), they will shave if needed, but I waxed a week or so before ;)

I've asked delivery nurses and with all the blood and guts they'd really prefer you to trim. It's a much easier clean up!! I plan on doing it more for myself than the nurses.

The little CNA came in with a little one blade razor. And wanted to shave me with just water. Still makes my legs squeeze together.
