Has anyone had a VBAC?

I'm expecting with my third child and I would really like to push my baby out. My first child I was in active labor for 31 hrs I got to 9cm but I wouldn't progress and went back to 5cm which resulted in an emergency c-section. I was also 42 weeks so I had to be induced and he was 8lb 9oz. My second child was born prematurely at 30wks 2lb 16oz and they decided to take her through c-section. Has anyone been able to have a vbac or know anyone who's had one after 2 c-sections??

My first son was a c section because of "failure to progress"..he wouldn't engage and I was scared into a c section. My second child was a vbac with a midwife. It went perfectly without any complications but was long (56 hours). My c section and vbac were 14.5 months apart. I agree though, it may be hard finding someone to do a vba2c, I know there is no doctors/midwives in my area that will attend one. Good luck!!

I'm planning a VBAC. First c- section due to failed induction and I got an infection from all of the vaginal checks. It was the worst experience I ever had.

If you want to try for a VBAC I recommend you find a good provider (Ive found midwives and family practice are more VBAC friendly than OB's) and a good facility that is natural birth friendly and has a low c- section rate.

If you do end up choosing a repeat c-section look into family centered options ( I've seen some beautiful c-section births).

The choice of how you want to birth is yours and  NOT a doctors ( they can only give there opinions). If you don't like what a doctor is telling you then go get a second opinion and don't look back.

I know women who have had VBA4C and VBA5C so anything is possible. Although uterine rupture is possible I know 0 women who have had this happen. Don't let scare tactics get in the way of the birth you want.

With my first i had made it to 8 cm and then wouldn't dialate anymore they told me she was stuck and that I have a narrow pelvis meaning cpd ! With my second I will be doing csection because of having cpd babies just can't fit .. They say once u have 2 csections they will not let you vbac... It's way 2 risky incase of rupturing ur uterus it's the safety of your child is what I would think about and it's definitely not worth trying to push a baby out and rupturing then ur child's life

Thank You all for the support as far as research and talking to my nurse I've been getting the same reply, I want to do vbac because my husband wants more children and I feel it's the safest route to go since I was told they don't suggest anymore c-sections so it seems as if I'm in a lose, lose situation

Majority of doctors willing to do VBAC will only do it with one prior c section. I have had 4 c sections and it was explained to me after number two that the risk to uterine rupture after two cesereans is too great for most doctors to be willing. With every c section, the uterine wall weakens around the scar area. With stronger contractions you run the risk of a rupture at which point the doctors have a very limited window (we are talking minutes) to preform a ceserean to get the baby out alive and save the mother. It is for that reason that the majority of doctors in the US will refuse to preform a VBAC after 2 c sections. I am in the same boat, my daughter started to crown but couldn't get through so my first was an emergency c section. I wanted to try for natural with the first surrogacy child I carried, baby #2, but when it didn't happen, I was told after that c section I would never be allowed a VBAC. Good luck hun! 😊

You may have a hard time finding a doctor that will do a VBA2C. It all depends on their insurance.

I had a c section with my first because of her positioning. I had a VBAC with a lot of complications with my second. I'm still planning on another VBAC because I really don't want to be cut again and I don't want to limit our family size.

We were breach with my first so we had to have a csection. We are going to try vbac this time. To be honest, a little scared to go natural.

I had an appt today asking about the same thing. My last pregnancy was a c section, and I was told that it depends on the cut that was made on the uterus, if it's up and down then you can only have another c section, and if it's side to side then you can have either or, but I was also told that not all hospitals give you the option. And unfortunately I'll be have another c section, because of my cut from the previous c section. I hope you get better news then me.
