When to try Infertility Drs?

When is it appropriate to see an Infertility Dr? I mean if you have been trying the good old fashioned way and nothing has happened when is the time? Also who should go first the husband or wife?

I believe most places have you try for 12 months prior to consulting

I was scared to go also. After 16 months of trying I decided to go. They did bloodwork first and then an ultrasound. Ultrasound came back normal, bloodwork came back showing that my progesterone level was lower then what it should be also my thyroid levels were off. On New Year's Eve I started clomid so we are hoping that this is the month that it will happen! Also the dr also gave me a script to have my husband checked if we want to.

my husband thinks it's something to do with him. I have two children from a previous marriage and he does not have any children. is it easier for men to get checked? also he had low testosterone for a year or so. now he takes t shots once a month. could this make difference in getting pregnant?
