Bradley method?

Not sure if I can do all 12 weeks of classes (or afford it since I'm already getting a doula). I've heard many say the book is enough. Any advice for a first-time mom?

I liked all 12 weeks of classes. And I think it made it more real for my boyfriend. It made him feel a part of the pregnancy more. I learned a lot and the talking to other mothers was helpful too. I highly reccomend the classes, I feel like I wouldn't be dedicated enough to read the book. I learned quite a bit from the instructor that wasn't in the book, not everything you can learn from books.

I ended up with a c-section but I knew what to ask for because of Bradley.

I took classes with my first, but honestly nothing could prepare me for how to handle labor. I did know I could handle it, though. I think it's great to take them if you can, but if you can't the doula will be there to help you through it. Good luck.

I never took any birthing classes and did just fine with all 3. Watch a video or two, talk to other moms about their labor/delivery stories. The doula will be helpful in guiding you as well.  :-)

Usually hospitals offer them at a really  cheap price, they also go over c sections- in case the natural route doesn't work. You can do that with a book and I would think you would be good. The classes are helpful just to mentally prepare you. I would contact your local hospital and see what they offer.

The classes are a lot of fun and you'll be glad you did them when labor kicks in. I'm prego with #2 and considering taking it again! Mine were only 6 weeks though. Maybe you can find a shorter one in your area?

See if there is a birth boot camp in your area- it's a two day Bradley class!!

'Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way' is a phenomenal book. I highly recommend it. Don't let the photos in the book scare you! I am in the class right now, but this book has been the primary way that the info has stuck.

What is the book called?  I'm going to check out my local library and see if they have it.

There were no classes nearby when I was pregnant with my first, but I did read the book and found it very helpful.
