How do you know a boy likes you?

There is this boy he has been my bestfriend for years one night we went to the cine and watch if i stay together and he hold my hand, he also made a mixtape with lovely songs and so many other stuff like cuddle went to the beach and all. He says he doesnt want to hurt me and that I am the only person he trully trusts his secrets and that I am very important. But he gets so weird sometimes like he is avoiding me is he afraid to love me?! I know this is just a short description cos there is so many other stuff we do.. i love him and he said he did felt the same but he cant hurt me
