What did your parents say?

My father's attitude was like "Good for you!  What's your secret". My mother was much more cautious and it stemmed from her worry about how my kids would accept it and how it would affect them.

My entire family thought I was pregnant when we got engaged so quickly.  Both my parents bit their tongue because they new how committed I was regardless of what they thought. Eventually my dads true colors came out and he and my husband fought like fist fight a few months before our wedding. I Never got an in person apology, for what my father said too and about me that night. They optted not to come to the wedding. My husbands oldest broth and father figure gave me away. It was a perfect day. I wouldn't trade it for the world. God has truly blessed us.

My dad tried to talk me out of the relationship and my mom was a little worried but supportive. His parents didn't question it, that I knew of and they liked me way better then his devil bitch ex gf lol.

My SO is 12 yrs older and we have been together for 13 yrs so I was 16 and he was 28 when we first got together. My mom didn't care as long as I didn't complain about her drug use and my dad didn't say much at all but now he loves him and so does my mom. When we first got together ( in a small beach town) everyone was against us (even ppl we didn't know) and we even got death threats if we didn't break up. That's all over now and we aren't in that small town anymore. We are both successfull in our careers and completely own our home and cars and all those ppl who hated us for being together are still stuck in that small town doing drugs and digging their holes deeper

I brought my boyfriend over to a party at my mom's house (i was 23 and i had moved out when i was 18). After hanging out for a couple hours my uncle (father figure) said "i like him, he seems like a nice young man". To which my mother replied "he's no young man, he's 14 years older than her". My uncle was like "oh well". I could see my mom was maybe kind of apprehensive but she knew better than to say anything to me, since she knew i was living on my own and i would do whatever i wanted anyway. I had been with him for 4 months already when i brought him over. Besides, my mom was in a 10 year relationship with a man 22 years older than her. Don't know what her first doubts were about, but know she likes him and they get along super.

I am 11 yrs younger and I started spending time with him when I was 14. I have known him since I was 5 and my dad has known him the same amount of time. My parents were fine with our starting to date when I was 15, planned on waiting till 18 but life happens. I moved in with him when I turned 18, and I am very happy. His family has accepted me and mine him, shockingly. I have been with him for 5 1/2 years and we are talking about marriage and the possibility children.

His dad loves me, I have yet to meet his mom. My parents have no idea I've even met anyone... my dad might have another heart attack when I tell him :/ and I'm afraid he'll disown me. But I'm hopeful that when he sees how absolutely wonderful, loving, and caring my SO is with me, he'll accept us! :)
