When did you get your first menstrual cycle?

Were you prepared or unprepared? Did you have an adult you trusted to help you through it?

I was just thinking about the first time I got mine, 9 years ago. I don't think it's gotten any easier!

I was VERY unaware I was in such a small percentage?! Not complaining though- I was small and active and didn't have to deal with AF in my high school years! Although I did have the flu the first time it happened and instead of being rational I immediately decided I was dying and bleeding out of everywhere...because that makes sense

I was 13 and at a birthday party. I hid it from my mom for at least 2 years!

The week of my 14th birthday. I remember being unusually frustrated and upset with my homework on my birthday. I was so crabby I wouldn't even leave my room for cake. Turns out, it was hormones!

Almost 16 and even though I knew what was happening, I still thought it was the end of me, lol. For some reason I thought it would never stop even though I had been taught otherwise, panic makes you a little nuts ;)

I was 12. First day of 7th grade. Thankfully it started before school and I knew what to do.

At 10 (day before the zoo) I didn't know what was happening and I thought my mom would get mad at me. I hid it for a day to see if it stopped and it didn't so I told her and she cried a lot 😂 I thought I was going to hell or something.
