Does birth control make you irritable?

I started taking the birth control pill last Monday and found that I have been more depressed and irritable than usual. All I wanna do is be alone or have my friends come to me rather than me go to them. I feel myself changing and it's the most stressful thing ever because one small thing can set me off. Is this normal?

My first pack I was EXTREMELY MEAN AND IRRITATED. I also cried and got depressed it takes a little bit for your body to get used to the extra hormones

Im on week 3 now and I feel so irritable like I'm in a attack mode 24\7.

I was like that the first week of switching from the pill to the implant. Hormones can really mess you up but it's usually just a week or ten day adjustment phase.

Just try to relax and realize it's the meds not you, it'll pass. If it doesn't, see about trying a different type of BC pill. Some effected me very differently than others.

Yes I just started taking mine too. I'm really irritable now and my mood swings are crazy.   The first two days I took it I noticed I was a little more down than usual and it did make me want to be alone more. I've been taking it for a month

Yes, if things don't get better talk to your doc and they can prescribe you something else. I had the same problem but I felt like it turned me into a raging B lol so I called and got a new pill that worked much better for me.
