STDs? Am i wrong !?!

Okay , i don't want to sound like a whore or anything but before i have sex with any guy , i ask them to go get checked for an std and i make sure they show me paper work up front !! Am i wrong for doing this ? Just with so many diseases going around I'm scared . If they wanted proof of mine I'd be on it !! Honestly am i dumb for asking them ? Some say no , whoever says no doesn't get my junk !!!!!
