Stds!

In a world where sex is the biggest industry, how come young people aren't properly educated on the dangers of unprotected sex and STDs? It honestly upsets me because I personally wasn't even taught about them in my own high school health class. I HAD TO GO OUT OF MY WAY TO LEARN ABOUT THEM. This shouldn't be the way things are. Any thoughts? Comments? Personal concerns?
