Depo Shot Good Or Bad Idea?

Question

Based on your opinion or experiences, do you think the Depo shot can affect fertility? I'm 17 years old. I barely started. I hear so many things about this shot. Everyone is different. But I mainly hear bad things about this shot. Since I barely started.. I wanted to know is it a good idea to go on with my second shot? My next is in May. Or should I switch to the pills? I don't want the implant because that one is also scary. Sounds scary according to many womens experiences. Idk. I'm on time to think about what I want but I just want your help.

I did the depo shot first, and I was okay with it, but switched the implant since it was easier. The implant isn't that bad

Personally I started on the pill but couldn't do the every day thing and was always kind of anxious. Depo has been the perfect birth control for me since I only have to go in once every 3 months and have no periods at all. So for me it has been perfect, but birth control is different for everyone

My sister had to go to the hospital after getting the depo, I refuse to try it because with my other medical allergies it's to big of a risk for me personally. I like the ring or patch. The patch was amazing, watch where you put it (never under the hem of your pants), other than that it's great.

The doctor shot me in the arm with one of these horrible shots and then proceeded to tell me that depo severely decreases your bone mass and that in a year I would have to get bone marrow testing. I've been using withdrawal for the past two years with no surprises!

I hated the Depo.  It made me retain so much water and I swelled so bad.  It also took like six months after I decided to get off of it to get back to "normal". Nevermind the migraines. But....Everyone reacts differently to different things. I hope you find something that works for you.

I started on the pill and it was pretty much like normal like my body and stuff and my mom talked me into getting on the shot and I did gain a bunch of weight and I felt like my depression got worse I was on the pill for about a year, maybe 2 and the shot was for 1 year exactly and I decided to switch and I got the patch which was like normal on my body except it would leave cuts on my skin around the edges so a month or two later I switched back to the pill which I'm on now but I haven't lost weight I gained really it just stays pretty constant. But if you want the one that supposedly works the best I've heard from multiple people its the shot but I was also told it will keep working for a really long time after you get off well depending on how long you were on it.
