How do you know when you ovulate? Help!

I felt a really sharp odd feeling pain around my right ovary and I was wondering if that could be me ovulating? Ive never really known about when I ovulate. Glow says Im not supposed to ovulate yet but I did just get off nuvaring so im sure my cycles arent normal. I usually have a 2-3 day period and this time I had a 7 day. So i know my bodys not back to normal, meaning could I ovulate before I should normally? Help!
